Playing UNO
- Enter a game name and two to eight player names on the start screen and click on the "Start Game" button.
- Additional players will see the game name on their start screen. They should enter their own name and click on the "Join Game" button. Refresh the start screen if needed to see the desired game name.
- There can be several games active at a time, but each person can only be playing in one game per computer.
- The player entered as "Your Name" when starting a game will go first for the first round.
- Use the mouse to click on the stock pile to draw a card. A selection symbol (*) will appear on this card.
- Use the left and right arrow keys to move the card with the * symbol to the desired position.
- Click on any of the cards in a hand to select that card for moving.
- A player can rearrange cards only when it is their turn.
- To discard, use the mouse to drag a card to the discard pile. This signals the end of a turn.
- Once a player goes out, all cards will be face up and the score automatically computed. The player with the lowest score after five rounds is the winner.
- Fifteen seconds after a player goes out, they will have a button to start the next round. They will also go first in the new round.
- When a Wild Draw 4 or Draw 2 card is played, the next player must draw two or four cards and cannot discard. The computer will automatically enable the next player's turn once the last card is drawn.
- When a player plays a wild card, buttons will appear to allow them to select the desired color. The wild card will then indicate the chosen color.
- Although the computer tries to enforce the rules, it is still helpful that players do not take actions that are against the rules.
- An alert bell will be sounded for the current player when it is their turn if the ] key is pressed. Pressing the [ key will turn the alert off.
- Although the computer should refresh all players screens after every turn, pressing the backslash key (\) will trigger a refresh if needed.
